A part of the Truth Commentary series, this study of Paul’s epistles to the churches in Philippi and Colossae by Walton Weaver is a verse-by-verse commentary of the text. Weaver helps the reader understand the meaning of the text in consideration of its application to the church and the life of individual Christians. The book begins with an introduction considering the authorship and background of the book of Philippians. Each chapter of Philippians is then thoroughly examined with a bibliography of works cited in the text at the end The second half of the book begins with an introduction to Colossians, considering the authorship and background of the book. Each chapter of Colossians is thoroughly examined, followed by an appendix considering the use of the word “fulness” (from its spelling in the KJV) as it is used outside of the book of Colossians. A bibliography of works cited in the commentary on Colossians is included at the end.
