You Are A Barnabas To Me

by Vicky Litmer

Using the example of Barnabas, one of the early Christians who was a source of encouragement to others, Vicky Litmer looks at the local church to see modern examples of those who have been an encouragement to her -- parents of small children, widows and widowers, those who attend worship alone because their spouses are unbelievers, divorcees, song leaders, prayer leaders, generous givers, teenage Christians, etc. to express how much an encouragement each of these has been to her. This book is ideal for gift-giving -- to encourage those who are an example to you!

A Christmas Present to those who are a Barnabas to me

Posted by Lori on Jan. 18, 2021

There are always ways in which you see your brothers and sisters in Christ, as a Barnabas to you. These were some wonderful short but directed areas in which people are such in your lives. I loved the book so much, I purchased 25 and gave them out as Christmas presents.

I have read it and some of my sisters have read it and my daughter is reading it. Wish I had ordered more while it was on sale.

This book is a must read! As soon as it came in the mail I read it from cover to cover in one evening. It opened my eyes to significance of having a heart like Barnabas's. All Christians should use this book as a guide in how to encourage our brethren.

I met Vicky and her son on Facebook last year. When I learned of the book, I bought a few copies and gave to friends who are - yep, a Barnabas to me. As she wrote, there are so many others she could have named. I'm sure you can, too. Buy some!

I have known the Litmers since I was very young. They are such blessings and this book is no less! I haven't even finished it yet, but already I am making a list of people that are a Barnabas to me and I hope to share this book with them! It is an light yet uplifting read and am so thankful for Vicky putting to words how I often feel towards specific members of the Lord's body! Thanks!
