This debate was held in Louisville, KY from November 5-9, 1956 between Robert C. Welch and H. E. Schreiner.

 

Proposition 1:

The Scriptures teach that the kingdom of Old Testament prophecy is the church in which Christ now reigns on David’s throne; which will be given back to God at Christ’s coming, the resurrection and judgment; in which is the fulfillment of the "reign” of Revelation 20, during the present dispensation.

Negative: H. E. Schreiner

 

Proposition 2: The Scriptures teach that when Jesus Christ comes again he will reign over a literal kingdom on the earth for one thousand years before the judgment.
