I teach at a discipleship program and they purchased these books for worship. I enjoyed singing from them when I am there and have purchased some for in my home.

After hearing the Sumphonia recordings we HAD to order a copy of the hymnal. It's beautiful, the cover and binding top-rate, the paper fine, and the texts beautifully organized and printed. Nicest hymnal we've ever seen (and we've been around a long time...). Delighted with our purchase. (Incidentally, we are Bible-believing, born-again, fundamental, conservative Baptists...)

Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs (IMO) is the best hymnal on the market. It has a wonderful mix of songs. The editors also culled out most of the songs that are too complex for congregational singing. I love the phrased notation, especially on the slides. 5 stars, for sure!

Great, balanced selection of hymns, both traditional and contemporary. I like the phrased notation--it makes it easy for all to grasp the meaning of the lyrics at a glance as well as for purposes of proper expression during musical performance by the leader of song. Type size is a plus for seniors. I am very pleased with both the content and the presentation. On par with the best collections of hymns intended for a cappella congregation singing. Congratulations on a job well done.

My NEW Favorite!

I was introduced to this hymnal a couple of years ago while visiting in Florida. My wife and I wanted to start a monthly singing and we were looking for a good book that was easy to read and easy to tell apart from the rest. We decided on Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs and have not regretted it. I love the phrased notation and how it helps the flow of the song, especially when singing an unfamiliar one. At first it seemed a little unusual to have the song leader aides at the end of the song, but I quickly adjusted to it. I also love the melody index and alternate arrangement suggestions. While there are some songs I enjoy singing that aren't in this collection, the variety and efforts made to restore others more than makes up for them.

This new hymnal is remarkable! I love the selection of old and new songs. Being a big fan of poetry, I loved the phrased notation format. It really helps me focus better on the messages the songs are portraying. Beautifully done!
