The issue the Galatian churches struggled with in the 1st century has challenged every generation since: what it means to be free in Christ.

Some believe that in Christ we have simply exchanged the Law of Moses for an updated law code—the “law of Christ” (Gal. 6:2). Some read that we are "not under law but under grace" (Rom. 6:14) and believe that God puts on us no requirements more specific than to "love your neighbor as yourself" (Mark 12:31).
