More Precious Than Gold

The purpose of this book is to understand that the proving, trying, and testing of our faith is truly “more precious than gold that perisheth” (1 Pet. 1:7). Lottie Beth Hobbs wrote, “We should not pray for those experiences which make us comfortable but for those which make us strong, and there can be no strength without trial nor true wisdom without adverse experience.” The finest steel undergoes tremendous heat and pounding in order to be useful. It has been said, “The strongest oaks grow where the strongest winds blow,” and “The turbulence of the sea produces the best sailors.”
