Product Description

by Melvin Curry

In this commentary, the student of Scripture will find a careful interpretation of the biblical text.  One will also profit from its critique of the social forces that influenced God’s people in the cosmopolitan city of Corinth.  The author provides not only an introductory guide to 2 Corinthians but also a careful verse-by-verse analysis.  He draws from the best works of those who have preceded him.  And he supplements their contributions with a knowledge and wisdom acquired from decades of teaching this great book in college classrooms and preaching it from pulpits throughout the land.  The Truth Commentary on Second Corinthians will enrich your personal library.

492 pages, Hardback Edition.

Melvin Curry can help you study Second Corinthians

Posted by Warren Berkley on Sep. 10, 2013

Those who know Melvin Curry have come to expect careful scholarship combined with accessible practical conclusions and lessons. That is exactly what Bible students will discover in his commentary on Second Corinthians. The introductory material and outline not only informs but creates an appetite to read and study the epistle. My experience has been, not just to use the commentary as a reference point to help with difficult passages, but to consume the work from cover to cover. I’m especially pleased with the help Melvin provides with respect to the “paradox of suffering and glory.” This commentary highlights that theme, thus supplying challenge and hope for us, to “walk by faith, not by sight” and be “of good courage.”

I took a class under this author on 2 Corinthians which was rich and now it is a joy to have the material available in print. The author is a careful student of the Word.
